We rescued Cheeba when she was 4 yrs old. She was afraid of many things & people, which was masked by aggression. Cheeba adapted well to us, but was very unsure of others & afraid of new situations. Karen helped show us how to use proper discipline for Cheeba to become a socially well-rounded dog. Karen showed us how to be the leaders & to recognize the dog's insecurity. We've had dogs for 30+ yrs and Karen is the first trainer to really understand a dog's disposition.

Karen gave us the confidence to be calm and assertive leaders. We practiced not only the training, i.e., heeling, coming, down, stay, etc., but she showed us how to correct certain bad habits the dog had. We learned to anticipate Cheeba's next moves. Her classes allowed us to get Cheeba to trust in us and others.

The first few times we took her to the vet, Cheeba showed her teeth & they muzzled her. Cheeba wouldn't let the vet examine her or allow her nails to be trimmed. Under Karen’s supervision, we practiced getting her excited, then calming her down, getting her to lie on her sides & practicing a vet's examination, looking into her ears, checking her teeth and looking at her paws. Because of these practices, our vet is amazed at the progress in our dog. Now, the vet looks forward to our visit and said she's amazed at the love Cheeba shows everyone at the office, and had she not witnessed her aggression during our first few visits, she wouldn't believe it's the same dog.

Because of Karen's ability to understand dogs, we have a well rounded & much loved family member.
