Aggression
Growling, nipping, chasing cars and many other behaviors may be signs that, your usually sweet dog is aggressive, even though he is neither vicious nor dominant. Dogs have three drives each of which has several sub-categories. When dogs are aggressive they may be in one or more of these drives. It’s important to determine which drive(s) your dog is in before determining a treatment plan since the treatment is different for each drive. Failure to separate and treat all of the reasons for aggression might make you feel your dog is unable to change, when, in fact, he was not diagnosed and treated comprehensively. Our use of the ARNOFF MODEL for diagnosing and treating aggression and other behavior problems will give you the most comprehensive understanding of the problem and the best opportunity for successful treatment.Call us.
