Full Consultation
If you want to get a puppy or, perhaps, an older rescue dog, or if you have one or more dogs with behaviors you no longer want to tolerate, you will probably want a full consultation. Whatever the problem, we will diagnose it and, most often create a treatment program for it. Sometimes, we can only develop a way to manage the problem and, if the problem is severe enough, we will assess the potential risk and prognosis for success.
Here are the steps to take in a full consultation:
- You contact DOC by telephone.
- You briefly describe the problem(s).
- We will give you a code to download or send you a set of questionnaires to complete.
- You return the questionnaire(s) with a check for $75 (which is applied to your account).
- We call you to set up an appointment date and time and establish the consultation fee..
- The consultation takes place at your home and lasts from two to three hours. By the end of the consultation, you will have an evaluation and be able to start a treatment plan
- You call Karen after the visit to report on your progress.
- Sometimes, one visit may be sufficient to correct the problem(s). If not, one or more follow-up appointment will be set. These can be spaced out according to the progress you are making which depends on your full-time employment, your children, other adults in your home, your previous experience with dogs, your confidence in handling the problem, etc. and your ability to afford additional sessions. We will tell you if you need additional appointments
